Opel Insignia Design Exterior Front
THE FRONT
The sweeping front and rear signature light lend the Insignia its unmistakable look. The body’s sculpted shape is accented by the distinctive radiator grill and a newly-designed Opel emblem. These elements are the self-confident expression of the new Opel design vocabulary.

Chrome grille with new Opel emblem
The 'face' of the Insignia is defined by the prominent chrome grill - featuring a newly designed and refined Opel emblem that exudes an exclusive yet understated air of self-confidence.

Ultra low drag side mirrors
Low drag means less fuel consumption and better driving dynamics. The Insignia's high level of overall aerodynamic perfection puts it far ahead of its midsize competitors and in a class with the best in the industry.

Signature headlights
The new inner headlamp detailing is highlighted by tapered rectangular forms and wing-shaped daytime running lights. The striking 'wing' design headlights will be a visual signature of Opel cars in the future and house the latest Adaptive Forward Lighting technology from Opel.

Waterfall design
A strong crease on the hood accentuates the reoccurring 'blade' shape and creates a cascade of light and shadow that moves over the fenders to the side panel. The sophisticated waterfall design enhances the dynamic and emotional feel of the car.

Opel Insignia Design Exterior Side
THE SIDE
The profile of the Insignia boasts a flowing, powerful silhouette. The striking design of the body’s smooth sculpted shape radiates confidence. Echoing the exterior, the flowing interior shapes and high quality surfaces embrace the occupants, while also meeting the highest standards in ergonomics and comfort. Another unmistakable Opel design element is the “blade”. It begins directly behind the front wheel well and glides through the entire side of the body.

Coupé-like roofline
Expressive, athletic and an aerodynamic dream: the roofline announces the lithe and agile character of the new Insignia. The side windows are lined with a chrome frame which optically slims down the car and adds to the sophisticated overall look.

Rear wheel arches
The pronounced wheel-arches help maintain the balanced proportions, so the car looks great with the stunning 20" alloy wheels as with any smaller wheels offered.

Side panel
The sculpted 'blade' motif in the side panel gives a strong sense of dynamic forward movement. It starts at the rear light cluster and thrusts forward towards the front wheels, where it dives down and returns back along the car's side. The blade allows the surface to play with pools of light, giving a lively and emotional feel.

Opel Insignia Design Exterior Rear
THE REAR
The rear of the vehicle extends gracefully into the flowing, powerful lines of the coupé-like roofline. It is exactly this balance that allows the new mid-sized Opel to appear both muscular and graceful.

Wide shoulders
The rear of the Insignia is characterized by the broad shoulders leading into the wheel arch blisters. Together with the wide tracks they combine for a muscular, compact look. The coupé-like rear window rounds out the agile character with an integral lip spoiler that improves aerodynamics and driving stability.

Rear lights
The 'wing' form is found sculpted into the red rear lights too, in combination with the angle coming off the wheel arch. The recurring 'blade' graphic theme is built into the running lights. Even in the dark, the Insignia displays an unmistakable identity.

Rear bumper
The dynamic flow of the Insignia is evident from every angle. Like the rest of the exterior, the rear bumper is optimized for the best possible airflow.

Opel Insignia Design Interior
INSIDE THE OPEL INSIGNIA
The interior design themes echo the flowing lines and dynamic curves that characterize the exterior styling. The elegant yet sporty design combined with high quality surfaces, chrome accents and bolder colors welcomes and embraces the occupants, while also meeting the highest standards in ergonomics and comfort. All of the materials work together, to create a harmonious, luxurious aura. The increased size of the body allows more interior space.

Sculpted 'blade' theme
The side blade sculpted into the exterior body was repeated on the interior, harmonizing the car. Variations of the blade are seen on the center stack, in the grab handle of the door and even in the shifter.

Signature 'wing'
The signature wing shape of the exterior's driving lights is recreated in the interior by a daring line that sweeps from the instrument panel to the door and back again.

Center console
The center console is all about flexibility and intelligence: Adjustable armrests, ergonomically placed controls, a multi-use storage box, and a connection point for MP3 players were carefully thought out. Layering in the console makes the interior feel lighter, airier and gives the illusion that the shifter is floating.

Instrument cluster
A deep instrument cluster proudly protrudes from the dash board. Chronometer-inspired tubes surround the instruments, chrome decorations and new lighting give the car a dynamic feel.

FlexRide switch
With FlexRide (Adaptive Stability Technology), the various chassis and engine control systems communicate continuously with each other so that stability is maintained at all times. FlexRide lets you choose any of 3 settings: 'Sport', 'Normal' and 'Tour' to suit your mood and the prevailing road conditions. In 'Sport' mode, the instrument lights shine in red instead of white providing the right ambience for a sporty ride.

Infotainment unit
The Insignia boasts a top-quality infotainment system with a range of new interfaces, navigation features and extreme user-friendliness. The infotainment unit is set at an angle of 30 degree that allows the center console to flow, enhancing the car's feel of speed and spaciousness.

Climate control
Highly advanced air-conditioning comfort with electronic control climate comfort. Standards include separate vent outlets for rear passengers, forecasting temperature control and a charcoal filter system.

Cockpit ergonomics
Driver-oriented cockpit with meticulously designed ergonomics. In order to further simplify driver interaction with the infotainment systems, a new center mounted push button control operates eight functions including audio, phone, and satellite navigation menus.

Seats
The Insignia's seats are an entirely new design with higher density foam padding for increased comfort and long-term durability. They also deliver the best longitudinal seat travel and electric height adjustment range in the industry. On top of that the optionally available ergonomic sport seat provides optimum support and outstanding comfort especially when driving long distances.

Colors
The Insignia uses warm tones, creating a more modern and welcoming environment. A wide range of light, yet very practical, interiors are also available. Glowing red ambient lighting warms the interior cockpit.

Materials
All the materials were chosen to enhance the cabin's welcoming ambiance. The main surfaces are textured with 'soft touch' materials, while chrome is used for highlights. High quality begins with the entry-level trim.
