Opel Insignia Design Exterior Front
THE FRONT
The sweeping front design draws the eye into subtle curves and harmonious lines. The sensual flowing surface of the Insignia Sports Tourer is highlighted in the front by the distinctive headlight cluster and radiator grille. These elements are the self-confident expression of the new Opel design vocabulary.

Waterfall design
A strong crease on the hood accentuates the reoccurring ‘blade’ shape and creates a cascade of light and shadow that moves over the fenders to the side panel. These sophisticated waterfall design elements highlight the dynamic and emotional feel of the Insignia Sports Tourer.

Chrome grille with new Opel emblem
The prominent chrome grill defines the ‘face’ of the Insignia Sports Tourer. It exudes an exclusive yet understated air of self-confidence and features a newly designed and refined Opel emblem.

Ultra low drag side mirrors
Low drag means less fuel consumption and better driving dynamics. The Insignia Sports Tourer’s high level of overall aerodynamic perfection puts it far ahead its midsize car competitors and in a class with the best in the industry.

Signature headlights
The new inner headlamp detailing is highlighted by tapered rectangular forms and wing-shaped daytime running lights. The striking ‘wing’ form headlights are a key element of the Insignia design and will be a visual signature of Opel cars in the future. They house the latest Adaptive Forward Lighting technology from Opel.

Opel Insignia Design Exterior Back
THE BACK
Applying the same spirit of sculptural artistry and German precision of the Insignia sedan, the designers have created more than just a wagon version. With its aerodynamic lines and bold roof spoiler, this sporty station wagon elegantly conceals the utility value of its large luggage space.

Rear Bumper
The rear sweeps down into a rounded bumper, emphasizing the aerodynamic framework that underpins the car’s design.

Rear lights
The distinctive and fully integrated rear lights and the chrome strip holding the prominent Opel logo give the car a note of added confidence.

Wrap-around tailgate
The designers pulled the “wrap-around tailgate far into the flanks and accentuated it with large integrated tail lights.

Opel Insignia Design Exterior Side
THE SIDE
The Opel Insignia Sports Tourer’s self-confident, powerful silhouette is accentuated by the muscular and flowing bodywork, including a blade shape chiseled into the side. The smooth sculpted shape beckons to be driven.

Aerodynamic lines
The dynamic and sporty design of this station wagon elegantly conceals its high-utility value. Subtle fine-tuning has given it an excellent aerodynamic CD of just below 0.30 – the lowest drag of any station wagon Opel ever built.

Rear wheel arches
The pronounced wheel-arches help maintain the balanced proportions, so this new Opel looks great with the stunning 20 alloy wheels as with any smaller wheels offered.

Side panel
The sculpted ‘blade’ motif in the side panel gives a strong sense of dynamic forward movement. It starts at the rear light cluster and thrusts forward towards the front wheels, where it dives down and returns back along the car’s side. The blade allows the surface to play with pools of light, giving a lively and emotional feel.
Opel Insignia Design Interior
INSIDE THE OPEL INSIGNIA SPORTS TOURER
The new Opel Insignia’s interior design themes echo the flowing lines and dynamic curves that characterize the exterior styling. The elegant yet sporty design combined with high quality surfaces, chrome accents and bolder colors welcomes and embraces the occupants, while also meeting the highest standards in ergonomics and comfort. All of the materials work together, to create a harmonious, luxurious aura. The increased size of the body allows more interior space.

Sculpted ‘blade’ theme
The side blade sculpted into the exterior body was repeated on the interior, harmonizing the Insignia. Variations of the blade are seen on the center stack, in the grab handle of the door and even in the shifter.

Signature ‘wing’
The signature wing shape of the exterior’s driving lights is recreated in the interior by a daring line that sweeps from the instrument panel to the door and back again.

Center console
The Opel Insignia’s center console is all about flexibility and intelligence: Adjustable armrests, ergonomically placed controls, a multi-use storage box, and a connection point for MP3 players were carefully thought out. Layering in the console makes the interior feel lighter, airier and gives the illusion that the shifter is floating.

Instrument cluster
A deep instrument cluster proudly protrudes from the dash board.  Chronometer-inspired tubes surround the instruments, chrome decorations and new lighting give the Insignia a dynamic feel.

FlexRide switch
With FlexRide (Adaptive Stability Technology), the various chassis and engine control systems communicate continuously with each other so that stability is maintained at all times. FlexRide lets you choose any of 3 settings: ‘Sport’, ‘Normal’ and ‘Tour’ to suit your mood and the prevailing road conditions. In ‘Sport’ mode, the Insignia’s instrument lights shine red instead of white, providing the right ambience for a sporty ride.

Infotainment unit
The Insignia Sports Tourer boasts a top-quality infotainment system with a range of new interfaces, navigation features and extreme user-friendliness. The infotainment unit is set at an angle of 30° that allows the center console to flow, enhancing the Insignia’s feel of speed and spaciousness.

Climate control
Highly advanced air-conditioning comfort with electronic control climate comfort. Standards include separate vent outlets for rear passengers, forecasting temperature control and a charcoal filter system.

Cockpit ergonomics
Driver-oriented cockpit with meticulously designed ergonomics. In order to further simplify driver interaction with the infotainment systems, a new center mounted push button control operates eight functions including audio, phone, and satellite navigation menus.

Seats
The Insignia’s seats are an entirely new design with higher density foam padding for increased comfort and long-term durability. They also deliver the best longitudinal seat travel and electric height adjustment range in the industry. On top of that, the optionally available ergonomic sport seat provides optimum support and outstanding comfort - especially when driving long distances.

Colors
The Insignia uses warm tones, creating a more modern and welcoming environment. A wide range of light, yet very practical, interiors are also available. Glowing red ambient lighting warms the interior cockpit.

Materials
All the materials were chosen to enhance the cabin’s welcoming ambiance. The main surfaces are textured with ‘soft touch’ materials, while chrome is used for highlights. High quality begins with the entry-level trim.

Mobile Office
Never run out of power again. The Insignia features a 230V power outlet for all your portable electronic gear. An Aux-in/USB is mounted on the centre console. Furthermore, the Insignia can be pre-equipped for hands-free operation of most mobile phones. Blue tooth and steering wheel control are also available.

Versatility
As you would expect from a car as well designed as the Insignia Sports Tourer: a comprehensive range of storage and stowage solutions is right there where you need it. All easy to reach and generously sized.

Roominess
There is ample space for five occupants and a highly competitive luggage compartment that offers a volume of 540 liters. With the back seats folded down, the load area length is 1.91 meters, providing a maximum capacity of 1,510 liters.

Storage under load floor

A practical compartment under the load floor is great for storing items that are needed only occasionally.

FlexOrganizer System

The FlexOrganizer system consists of side rails and luggage nets that help you secure loose items in the cargo area. There is also a series of practical extra components such as boxes, hooks and straps.

Rail to Rail panorama sunroof

The two-part sunroof maximizes natural light and atmosphere. It features a fixed glass rear section and an openable, pre-programmable front section with spoiler function. An electrically activated sunblind covers the complete sunroof to protect against strong sunlight.

Splittable Back Seat
The generously proportioned load area can be effortlessly extended by folding the 60/40 split folding rear seats.
